Hand made prints – etchings – are great fun to create!

As well as undertaking private and commercial commissions and illustrating books, Tim has been creating etchings for almost 20 years.  His work has been sold throughout the U.K. in numerous galleries and he has been the recipient of the Fine Art Trade Guild’s Business Award for artist’s print of the year.

If you have never had a go at etching before, this is the perfect introduction for you.

Why not make it part of your holiday to North Yorkshire? We can heartily recommend some great places to stay – either Bed and Breakfast or Self Catering. A days etching course could slot very nicely into your holiday itinerary !

The courses are held most Tuesdays in the studio at our home in Middleton, Pickering, North Yorkshire  and with a maximum of 4 people per course there is plenty of one to one advice and tuition – why not get some friends together and come along as a group?

Whether you live ‘round the corner’ from us or are coming from the other end of the country we look forward to welcoming you to the studio and will endeavour to make your visit as enjoyable and productive as possible!

In a nutshell, they are prints created by the artist, in the past, with copper plates, nitric acid, very gunky ink and an awful lot of elbow grease. The gunky ink and elbow grease are still needed but now I use a non-toxic etching technique - safer for me and better for the environment!
